Thank you for your response, nabukl.. I can record on every other channel but CBS sports network. I can watch the channel and record on all other channels. I also subscribe to the sports package. Directv confirmed that I subscribe to that channel and cannot figure out why I cannot record.I have the regular DIRECTV service and using the DIRECTV app works, it's just not a pleasant experience (not wanting to bash the app).
