I have a .50 cal Optima V2 and it's all I'd ever need in an inline muzzleloader. I've used 200 TC shockwaves over 100 gr BH 209. When hunting where bear would also be in season, I've used 300 gr Hornady SST over 110 gr of BH 209. Usable 100 yard accuracy from both. The 300 gr Hornady really flattens small deer.For the little extra weight, I'd certainly go with the Optima and a nitrided model if possible. The Optima will have less barrel jump, or rise when fired. The release is much nicer than a Wolf. The Optima's extra couple inches of barrel won't be a hindrance inmost stands or blinds.

Brand new optima V2 never shoot. I just recently bought one of those too. I've only been to the range twice with it so far. First time I used 70 grains [V] of Triple 7 2f with the Thompson Center Maxi Hunters 275 grains. The Gun shot those pretty good. The next time out I tried BH209 with the Hornady 250 grain SST's.
