I had this happen when I had my 2003, I thought it was my brake box, but I found out that if you have the climate control set to blow out the vents, which is all the way counter clockwise, it is like it is trying to move the door under the dash too far and I would get a clicking sound.I've come across another drivetrain problem, which are usually a pain in the ass to figure out and track down, especially by yourself. This time, I have a ticking or clicking noise coming from the front passenger side wheel area. The sound gets faster with speed, and slows down while braking. It does it turning left or turning right.New brakes (pads, rotors, and clips) all the way around yet there is still a clicking noise that increases with speed in the front end. The injector ballance rates are very good, as the truck has 40k on it. I can't locate it, it's easily heard from both passenger and drivers side of truck. These new diesels are so quiet now that you can hear all the weird stuff that has always made noise but was drowned out by engine rattle. New Ride: 2020 GMC 2500 CCLB DMAX. I have a knocking noise upon deceleration on my 2017 duramax Silverado.. It happens between 1600-1100 rpm. As I decelerate between this range, it will start to knock at around 1600 then go away at around 1500 then start again around 1400 and stop at around 1200 and a third time at 1100. It sounds like a lifter smacking the camshaft.
