Nov 2, 2016 · I have a 2012 International Durastar 4300 6.4 L MaxxForce 7 engine and this is what has happened so far: Driving along the highway, and engine starts to derate. Just a sudden loss of power. So I took it in to have it looked at. Dealer couldn't find any faults. Posts: 5. Overheating Issues. Mine turned out to be a little more serious - turns out the EGR cooler failed, allowing coolant to empty into the exhaust and engine. Luckily it's still under warranty. Yes, MAXXFORCE 7 engines, we have worked with the engine group with these problems. We ran some test buses for them. after several calibration attempts they came out with a calibration they thought would fix the problem, and it has on several units. But I still have some that are putting fuel in the oil.

Most likely your engine was made in 2012, probably has the older DPF, needs a new DPF and several ECM changes which have been made to enhance the DPF life. The newer DPF is less restrictive. This engine came out of a 2009 IC Corp school bus, it has 149,240 miles and 6,793 miles. It starts, runs excellent & makes great power!! Ready to repower y...We have a 2011 28 foot Allegro Breeze with the Maxxforce 7. 59,000 miles. Purchased used in 2013. The reasons we still have it: No issues with the Navistar engine. We have gotten 10-11 mpg running about 62 mph. Doesn't use lube oil between changes. No transmission or air brake issues.
