2000 c230 wont shift. started by gauges not working, then not wanting to shift. towed it home, noticed that the maker saying where the transmission is on is blank. replaced the brake light switch and the transmission harness connector which was filled with oil. still wont shift. So I replaced the shifter with a known good one. Still same symptoms.Key Fob won't turn in ignition. Fob batteries measure 3v but had one spare so I put it in the fob but no change. The little red light flashes when I press the buttons. Using my cell phone I can see the IR although it seems very weak. The car states that it doesn't recognize the key when I push the button on the shifter.

On my 05 c230k you have to replace the whole light assembly (clear plastic part) it is sealed and i did not see a way to open it get to indiv bulbs. You can try moving the wheels by hand to turn the steering and then try to turn the ignition key with both wheels off the ground.Aug 6, 2017 · 2006 C230 V6 won't start.
