I'm getting ready to submit to ERAS and I'm planning how to assign my letter of recs. I was wondering how important it was to actually submit a chair…yup home program that had ranked me highly but we had a shit ton of home applicants compared to normal so they barely fell on their list. I got kinda bad advice from them though for the cycle so I am not sure how much to trust them saying my class rank is fine

A cover letter should be fairly short, maybe two paragraphs and a closing line. Include your name, institution, and current year in med school. Definitely include your previous research experience in good detail. Describe your reasons for wanting to pursue that specific research fellowship (faculty, research interests, etc).In regards to #3 most calls are night and weekend, the day schedule is managed by a derm consult team/attending at most programs. Nobody cares. With an acceptable step score, a strong institutional pedigree, and a few research projects, you'll definitely be able to match.I dont know if you figured it out or not but there is a way to show the programs that you have submitted the paper the journal. I just did it. If you pick one of the peer review/ journal " (OTHER THAN PUBLISHED) "option under the publication section. Then go down to publication status. theres multiple options with one being " submitted".

I did my home derm and 2 home sub-I's before ERAS. Aways after. Because that's how the schedule panned out. I didn't need letters from aways, so was okay with doing them after ERAS if needed. Wanted a fourth year medicine letter for my prelim apps, so did my required medicine sub-I before ERAS. Colorblind dermatologists? I'm a med student really fascinated by derm. The issue is that I'm quite red/green color blind and have a lot of trouble seeing inflammation/redness.
