To diagnose the fault code, you should use a scan tool to check for the additional codes that indicate which cylinder is affected. You will then want to test the spark plugs, fuel injectors and ignition coil.P2302 Ignition Coil A. 2007 Rubicon, 3.8L. I had a P0300, multiple cylinder misfire and P2302 Ignition Coil 2nd circuit/A Insufficient ionization a few weeks back with the Jeep running awful. I even had the rotten egg smell at the onset but haven't had it since. I haven't really left the driveway though.P0300, P0301, P0305 cyl misfire. Would really appreaciate some answers! Last week CEl came on. i changed the upstream 02 sensor on the passenger side, cleared the light and everything was going well. Then this week it hit me with p0305 (cyl 5). My son drove his 06 Jeep Wrangler from Montana to SC he got almost here and the check engine light came on, he lost power and it started spurttering. We had it towed home. We had it checked and the code P0300 was reading, so we replaced the spark plugs,and ignition coil, it ran good for 2 days and ... Threw a code for a drivers side upstream o2 a few months back, bought new sensor but CEL turned off so never installed new sensor. The P0300 is the only code. I've checked what is pending several different times and it's the only one that shows up in Pending or as the CEL code. I didn't have much luck on the Wrangler forms but looking on the Gladiator forums, which has all the differences a JL would over a JK, this seems to be a rampant issue.
