The receivers are different - AC556 is slightly wider and configured differently. You've got the full-auto and tri-burst parts as well as the selector. The Ruger AC556 is not one of those. It has a lot of proprietary low production parts and the only mags that are worth a shit are OEM and are not cheap to buy. ... I can likely source new Mini 14 stainless barrel and and have it cut to 13", but having a real 13" AC556 barrel is a better fit for my gun-nerd tendencies.
