If you look at yours you will probably find that the edges are rounded off. Those are what grabs the hay and gets it rolling. Also helps to feed it faster when starting the bale. Both augers had big chunks of weld spatter and poorly fitted joints that would catch hay. The new augers are much cleaner. I think a pickup the same width as the chamber, but with the big "tucker wheels" would be better than the extra wide pickup. All that said, the BR780 has been a great baler, with much better capacity than the older …848 for newbies it is. Start bale slower, get it rolling then throttle up. Start bale in swath that is a touch narrower than pickup. This will alllow bale to start forming core alot faster, won't hang up under pickup. Also baling with dew helps, most all problems I ever had with my Deere 567 was when crop was totally bone dry. Would rip net, and send it to top roller.
