It seems to be lean (shuts off and won't start unless I pull the choke out even when warmed up). It looks like I have a "D" headed pipe plug looking thing in the area where the dynojet kit lists the fuel mixture screw should be.If it jumps off to the side, the spark isn't strong enough. Most 4-wheeler problems are caused by a loose nut connecting the handlebars and the seat!! You only need two tools in life -- WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.I removed and flushed the fuel tank on my new-to-me Recon today. When I put the petcock wheel on, there is just a simple ^ on it, you can move the location 90 degrees by pulling it off the petcock and make the ^ point however you want. If the filter can pass enough fuel for the engine to run at higher rpm, it will certainly pass enough for operation at idle. I think I would investigate on other options. My fuel gauge is blinking also. Last time it did it from sitting with no fuel, it corrected itself after a tank of fuel. I'm guessing it had aome buildup on the level aenaor.
